There is good news for Xbox gamers as Microsoft announced that this weekend online multiplayer will be available to all at no extra cost.

So from Friday, October 6 until Monday 9 of the same month, Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers will be able to access the same online features as Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers.

This means that they will have the opportunity to join the online multiplayer of any game without paying for a membership. Also, the voice chat and group chat will be unlocked. However, keep in mind that the Games with Gold and Games with Gold promotions remain exclusive to members with a paid subscription.

In addition, Microsoft also recalled all the players to join the open beta of Star Wars: Battlefront II. The period starts from today, October 6 and will run until October 9.

Starting today, anyone who has pre-ordered Battlefront II before September 30 can start playing all the content that is available in the trial period. Keep in mind that to access it you need to download its client, which is available on Origin, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox store.

As we told you recently, in the Beta of Star Wars: Battlefront II you will find 4 game modes – Galactic Assault, Strike, Starfighter Assault and Arcade – which will offer different types of online and local multiplayer experience. These modes will lead you to have battles on maps like Naboo and Theed. In addition, there will be several daily challenges that will allow you to unlock rewards.
