Although yesterday we learned that the Xbox One S would improve the performance of some games thanks to its new technology, Microsoft said today that the extra power of the GPU and CPU will only work for developers to make use of the HDR of the new system.
“We have the same SOC architecture as Xbox One today,” Microsot said. “For games that want to take advantage of HDR, we gave developers access to a small amount of additional processing power.”
This means that the HDR feature that allows a better dynamic range for lighting, will be the main feature of Xbox One S. One of the first games that take advantage of this technology will be Gears of War 4, title to debut on October 11.
So, this is a contradiction to what did Rod Fergusson said, director of The Coalition, who said that Gears of War 4 would have improved resolution and frame rate in Xbox One S. Perhaps all was due to confusion, but certainly it is important that the company has a better communication, as one can remember that these were the problems faced by Microsoft during the launch of the first Xbox One, when the characteristics of this system were not communicated properly.
The new Xbox One S will be available in August 2016. The console will be available in 3 packages and scale all your games and videos to 4K.
