Xbox One and Scorpio games will not have to present the same frame rate

While Sony is looking for developers to harness the power of the PlayStation 4 Pro as a whole, they have also scored a few lines, such as multiplayer titles running at the same frame rate per second on PS4 and PS4 Pro. With Project Scorpio things will be a bit different, since developers have the freedom to choose if they want their games to have better frame rate on this platform.

According to Mike Ybarra, chief engineer of Xbox, Microsoft will not force developers to have parity between the framerate per second in Project Scorpio and Xbox One. Through his Twitter account, the member of Microsoft confirmed that the studios will be free to choose the frame rate of their game on both platforms.

“No, there is not,” he replied to a fan who asked if there was frame parity. “This is up to the developer to choose, for their games, what they want to do.”

In another tweet, Ybarra reiterated that its policy is that the developers have the freedom to use the power of Project Scorpio as they prefer. This means that the company does not impose any requirements that limit “the framerate or fidelity”.

On the other side of the coin, Shannon Loftis, head of Microsoft Studios, commented that while those freedoms do exist, she doubts developers are going to take advantage of them in multiplayer titles. What she surely refers to is that many players would see the difference as an injustice.

There is very little time for Microsoft to show us Project Scorpio at its E3 2017 conference, which will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, June 11. Stay tuned on GameTransfers.com for more updates on this news.
