The award and appreciation program for the Xbox preference, Xbox Live Rewards, is close to experiencing an important transition, at least in the United States, as it will change its name and restart its activities under a new system.
Through notices and notifications, Xbox informed users of Xbox Live Rewards programs that from next June the program will change its name to Microsoft Rewards, which is a further step in the process of unification of game platforms launched by the company.
According to the information, user accounts will be automatically integrated into Microsoft Rewards, but this does not mean that they will maintain their current situation in terms of credits. We say this because the notification of Xbox refers that the last minute of May 31 will be the last moment that users can participate in the program as they had done so far and will have until June 15 to change their points and gems for the products offered.
So far, the announcement only indicates that the change will occur only in the United States and there is no information about what will happen in the other countries where Xbox Live Rewards is available.
However, some users of the program in the US have expressed their annoyance over the decision of Xbox and Microsoft, especially since it has not been clear what will happen in terms of value conversion, as from June, points and gems will become Microsoft Rewards Points.
