Although we knew for weeks that No Man’s Sky will debut later on PC, for a moment there was some confusion because the website of Hello Games and Steam sheet showed different release dates. Fortunately, the developer said it all: No Man’s Sky will reach computers on August 12.

Originally, the launch of No Man’s Sky for PC was scheduled for August 9, next to the version of PlayStation 4, but today, through Twitter, the studio has confirmed that the title will be available a few days later. “PC No Man’s Sky release will now be global and will be August 12th worldwide,” said Sean Murray. “It’s so important we get it right and make the best version we can.”

“We apologise for the extra days wait this means for North America. Steam page will updated to reflect this asap,” added Murray.

For now, Hello Games is also working on the first update for No Man’s Sky, including new content update. Likewise, the companion app of No Man’s Sky is also available for download at this link. Under the name of NMS Ally, this application allows you to take screenshots and share them from your PlayStation 4; also it includes a generator names for creatures and planets as well as a diary in which you can sort the information of the items you find.

NMS Ally is only available for Android devices. Meanwhile, the iPhone version is also on track, but still needs approval from Apple.
