After years of waiting, players can finally enjoy the Bayonetta franchise on PC. A few days after its launch, the title of Platinum Games received today a small update of only 22 KB; However, the content hints great news for followers of this studio.

The update added an avatar for Steam in which we see Sam Gideon, protagonist of Vanquish. Previously, Atsushi Inaba, co-founder of Platinum, had mentioned that it was possible to see a port of this action title on PC, but since then we had not heard about it.

In case you do not know, Vanquish debuted in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game places us in an international conflict where the DARPA agency will play a key role. Sam Gideon will have as a main mission to rescue the scientist Francisc Cándide, captured by the Russians. For this, he will occupy a suit of the last technology that will enhance all its human capacities. The title was directed by Shinji Mikami and produced by Atsushi Inaba.

Representatives of Platinum Games and SEGA, the company in charge of distributing Vanquish, mentioned that they are interested in bringing several of their titles to PC. For this reason, the image allusive to the game could be a nod that will publish Vanquish on Steam.

SEGA has not said anything about it, so we will have to wait for more information about this possible port. John Clark, vice president of commercial publishing for SEGA Europe, recently said that the company is “dedicated to bringing high-quality, best practice PC conversions of our back catalog games to our fans, and Bayonetta was a great fit.”

In related news, the launch of Bayonetta on Steam was a success, as the game sold more than 100,000 copies in its first week. Platinum also released an 8-bit game from this franchise.
