Vampyr Will Officially Release on June 5 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One
Focus Home Interactive and Dontnod Entertainment announced the release date of Vampyr: the new game of the authors of Remember Me and Life is Strange will be released on June 5, 2018, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Expected last year with being officially pushed back to a vague spring 2018, the game was unquestionably one of the most anticipated titles. In the video, titled Stories From the Dark, the developers talk about the particular approach to narrative, which makes video games a medium unique and different from everyone else.
Narrative Director Stéphane Beauverger explained that players’ actions (exploration, investigation, interactions with non-player characters, combat, and choices) are all intertwined with the narrative. The goal is to create a total immersion, which is why they also used motion capture to create realistic facial animations.
The date was confirmed in the last episode of the Dev Diaries video, entitled Stories from the Dark and focused on the plot of the game, set in London, during an epidemic that hit the city in early 1900, turning all the inhabitants into vampires hungry for blood.
Vampyr will be a game focused entirely on the single player, the developers have recently confirmed the absence of DLC, multiplayer and microtransactions.
Vampyr will be released in the retail and digital format on June 5 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC formats.
