During the British Academy Game Awards, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End won the award for best game of the year. Arne Mayer of Naughty Dog accepted the award and was briefly interviewed by the International Business Times, where for the occasion he also spoke of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
We knew that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy would last longer than Left Behind, the downloadable content of The Last of Us. Naughty Dog has specified a bit more about this duration and believes that it could exceed the 10 hours of duration.
About the expansion of Uncharted 4, Mayer has stated the following: “Well, we don’t have the self-discipline to do that’. If we tried to do that we’d create a full game.”
“There’s no way we could, sort of, constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what was happening here. When we were doing story pitches, we were coming up with a game that would be over ten hours long and so we suddenly realized everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short,” Mayer said.
It is not clear whether the disclosed timeframes reflect the actual duration of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy or if simply it is an approximate value, hyperbole to make it clear to the public that it will not be a short expansion with reduced longevity.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy stars Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, who appeared in previous games. This time the action moves to India, looking for an ancient artifact. It still has no release date and is standalone expansion of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
