Ubisoft Hints That A New Splinter Cell Is On The Way?

Before the last E3 began, it was rumored with the announcement of a new installment of the Splinter Cell saga. All of them were nowhere to be seen, it was blurring until we came to know that Ubisoft could have canceled some title that was in development, leaving Sam Fisher again in ostracism.
This time it was Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, who wanted to leave the door open again to a possible return of the desired franchise. The head of Ubisoft has left clues about how a new title could be raised beyond what we have known as Splinter Cell until its last title.
In that sense, Guillemot stated the following to the Chinese outlets, via Gameblog: “Regarding Splinter Cell, the series will offer new experiences, but it will rather on different devices. We work a little … a lot on the license, so that it can someday come back. I can not tell you when, because it takes time, but we have to find the right moment to make a comeback.”
It is true that he does not want to specify when or how we could see the return of Splinter Cell. The interesting part of the declaration is on “different devices”: one of the first thoughts is that it could be a mobile game; the protagonist of the series, indeed, will already be part of a smartphone title, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, but it is not, in fact, a Splinter Cell game.
Tell us, what do you think? Do you want a new chapter of Splinter Cell? Or after all these years would you rather see the birth of a new IP of the same kind, but with a different style?
