Although Beyond Good and Evil 2 was a surprise during the conference of Ubisoft in E3 2017, the truth is that many expected the return of old franchises and one of them is Splinter Cell. In this situation, the company encouraged the fans a little and mentioned that they have not forgotten Sam Fisher.
During an interview with Geoff Keighley on YouTube Live, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemont said that the company has plans to launch something new from Splinter Cell, but he declined to give details.
“I can’t say much about that,” he said. “For sure, all the Clancy games are taken care of. It’s just that we have a lot on our plate at the moment and The Division continues to be played and Rainbow Six too. I think yesterday was even one of the highest numbers of players playing…So all the Clancy games are coming along. We are not forgetting Splinter Cell.”
The last time we saw Sam Fisher was in Splinter Cell Blacklist, a title that debuted in 2013, with great reception from the critics, but poor sales performance.
On the other hand, do not forget that Ubisoft presented new games in its space of E3 2017, we refer to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Skull & Bones.
