Speaking on the microphones of the GameFocus website, a spokesman for Nexus has confirmed that Titanfall Online has been canceled: the spin-off announced at the end of 2016 was the protagonist of a beta session in 2017 that did not get the desired results, hence the decision to cancel the project.

The decision was taken by Electronic Arts for “business decision”, the American company has communicated to Nexon (distributor of the game) its decision only recently. “It is true that Nexon and EA have agreed to cancel Titanfall Online under a business decision. After much deliberation, it was decided that reallocating development resources to another project was better for the company,” a Nexon rep stated.

Titanfall Online was a spin-off designed primarily for the Asian market, born with the goal of increasing the popularity of the franchise in China and South Korea, but the experiment did not give the expected results. Announced in December 2016, Titanfall Online aimed to consolidate the popularity of the franchise in certain markets and was also the protagonist of a preliminary test session.

It is currently not clear what is the future of the brand, Respawn Entertainment is developing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and a mysterious VR project, in recent months there was talk of a Titanfall 3 in the launch but the game has not yet been announced, so here we invite you to take the news as a simple rumor.
