Nintendo has announced that its online service for Switch will arrive until 2018, although it has also revealed a significant change in this subscription, because the program of free games will be modified.

Nintendo has revealed that the online service for the Nintendo Switch will arrive until 2018. In addition, it has announced the cost of the service and an app that will accompany the service.

Initially, the company mentioned that subscribers could play a classic NES or SNES title for only one month. However, that was in the past, as Nintendo plans to improve this section.

“Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have ongoing access to a library of classic games with added online play,” the company said to GameSpot. “Users can play as many of the games as they want, as often as they like, as long as they have an active subscription.”

So, the first classic titles announced are Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario. For now, Super NES games are still under consideration, so we’ll have to wait for the initial list being prepared by the company.

For now, Switch users should know that they can continue playing online for free during this 2017, until subscriptions start to be required in 2018. Prices for this service are: $3.99 USD for one month, $7.99 USD for 3 months and $19.99 USD for 12 months.
