The series of The Witcher began as a literary saga, born from the pen of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. His luck continued with the adaptation of CD Projekt RED, which has drawn a video game sequel trilogy, that became instant cult for all RPG fans. And since all this happened it was only a matter time before it even landed on the screen. For the moment, that of TV.

The show will be largely based on the original stories told in the books of Andrzej Sapkowski, but the director of the newly announced TV series, Tomasz Bagiński, has recently focused on hypothetical similarity that the character of Geralt can present with the protagonist painted in the famous saga of the video game developed by CD Projekt RED.

In an interview with the Polish website Inn Poland, Bagiński has first complimented the Polish software house to achieve a product of such a high quality and to have characterized Geralt in a hectic manner. However, as expected, the writers of the show are going to undertake an autonomous way, why – apart from some minor combinations – the character of Geralt will be largely distant from its counterpart imagined by CD Projekt.

We look forward to learn more about the cast and the date of launch of the TV series of The Witcher. Meanwhile, it has already been confirmed that neither CD Projekt nor Douglas Cockle will be involved in the project.
