Since the release of the wonderful third chapter, the fans of Geralt of Rivia are wondering if there will be a new title of The Witcher 4 on CD Projekt RED’s plans. The answer seems to be negative at the moment.
Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt RED, was recently interviewed by the Polish website Strefa Inwestorow and on this occasion he talked, among other things, about the future of The Witcher series, specifying that there are currently no plans for the fourth chapter, The Witcher 4.
Kiciński made it clear that the adventures of Geralt ended with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, at the moment there are no plans for The Witcher 4, however, the Polish studio knows how much players want to return to The Witcher world. “CDP RED doesn’t have any plans regarding The Witcher 4, they envisioned it as a trilogy and TW3 was a definitive end to the series” was the statement translated by ResetEra.
At present, CD Projekt RED is not working on a new The Witcher, but Kiciński himself has been said to be a potential player in the near future, as players and investors would not be well prepared for total abandonment of the series.
As for the new title of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt confirms the promise that it will be “much bigger in scope than The Witcher 3,” but Kiciński was a bit shy in commenting on whether the new development title will have a multiplayer component or not.
Unfortunately, they have also not shared the launch date or launch window for the title, but the developers reported that they are very excited about the game and they can not wait to share more information about it.
