Stoic has announced that The Banner Saga 2 will add a new game mode focused on survival experience. In this mode players will have to overcome 40 levels of combat relentlessly. Note that, it is also a free update now available on PC.
Stoic announced that from today the Survival Mode of Banner Saga 2 is available and that the developer describes it as a new challenge for the players.
“Survival Mode is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while now,” said John Watson, technical director of Stoic. “This is an entirely new experience within Banner Saga 2. Our goal was to create a fun, tactical game mode where fans can play from a different perspective which focuses on strategy and the hard cost of death in combat. We modified how the combat worked from the core game based on feedback from our community and put it through a closed beta to make sure that it was fun.”
Players will have to form their team from a selection of heroes of the game and then face the combat, in which the permanent death of the characters is a reality. Thus, a character who falls in combat may not return.
This mode is a free to upgrade for all users of the game and is already available for Windows and Mac. The title will come to PS4 and Xbox One in July 2016.
