Here we go again! New Walmart leak: this time the American store has included in the list the not yet announced Team Sonic Racing, a new racing game expected to arrive by the end of the year. Can we expect an imminent reveal, or at the latest during E3 2018?
Walmart has included in its list only the version for Nintendo Switch, with a cover (which you find at the bottom of the news) and first screenshots, shared on Twitter by Sonic Paradise. Team Sonic Racing will resume the gameplay at the base of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, with the multiplayer mode, single player and local co-op (at least on the Nintendo console).
The product description is about racing for 12 players (four in split-screen), extensive customization possibilities, objects and power-ups, adventure mode and 15 characters from the Sonic universe. From the outset, the aspect of Team Sonic Racing does not move too far from that seen in Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed, which is a combination of the best elements of arcade and competitive racing in the style of Mario Kart although with a new turn: this time we will have the possibility of working as a team, sharing power-ups, etc.
In fact, this team mode will be the essence of the game: when competing in this way we must win along with other allies and we can even benefit from unique movements compensating the attributes of each runner. And if that was not enough, the Wisps return to the Sonic universe offering 14 offensive or defense skills to generate chaos or perform an impeccable route.
Team Sonic Racing should be available by the end of the year on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch, we look forward to any announcements.
