System Shock Remastered Demo download available on PC now
Night Dive Studios gave the green light to the Kickstarter of System Shock Remastered, seeking $900,000 USD for development of the title. However, you do not have to wait too long to try the game, as the team has now released a demo that is available for download on Steam, GOG and Humble.
Obviously, this is an incomplete version, so Night Dive Studios warns that the demo is a proof of concept, and that performance, features and visual effects are subject to change. The trial is available for players to know the work of the studio.
“We want to demonstrate our commitment and passion for System Shock by providing a fun and exciting experience to potential backers,” wrote the development team on Kickstarter. “This demo represents the look and feel that we want to achieve with the final version we’ll deliver to you, our backers. Please be aware, this is a proof of concept; the PERFORMANCE, FEATURES, and VISUALS are subject to change. We hope you enjoy your time aboard Citadel Station! SHODAN eagerly awaits your arrival.”
You must know that the demo of System Shock Remastered has a size of less than 500MB and offers about 10 minutes of gameplay, that will surely touch the nostalgia of the players. In addition, the trial version has got support for controls, but you must use the mouse to navigate menus.
Remember that Night Dive Studios is also working on System Shock 3 from 2015. And if that was not enough, Warren Spector, producer of Deus Ex and System Shock, joined the studio to commander the development of the third part.
System Shock Remastered will be available for Xbox One and PC next year.
