Today Nintendo has updated the data related to their consoles as of December 31, 2017. As can be seen in the infographic above, Switch has surpasses 14.86 million units sold, while the 3DS has reached a quota of 71.99 million.

Nintendo has announced that it has distributed 14.86 million Switch units worldwide since its launch, updated to December 31, 2017. The Kyoto house has increased its forecasts for the current fiscal year, the goal now is to distribute 17.74 million of consoles by March 31, 2018.

It is an absolutely remarkable goal achieved by Nintendo Switch, reached within just nine months of presence on the market. Also worthy of mention is the success of 3DS, that has reached 71.99 million units distributed since 2011 to date.

As for Switch, these are numbers exceeding expectations, initially, the company had planned to distribute 15 million consoles by the end of the fiscal year, ie by March 31, 2018. Nintendo Switch was one of the most desired products of Christmas 2017 and the sales prospects for the current year seem to be decidedly positive.

Moreover, the overall forecasts have been increased by one million units compared to three months ago, which means that the console has gone beyond expectations during the Christmas period.
