Success of Nintendo Switch Positively Impacted Nvidia’s Revenues
The great sales performance Nintendo Switch has not only positively impacted the industry and console market, where it has been an important part in the upturn in sales in 2017, but it has also had an effect on the finances of Nvidia, the development company of the processor that gives life to the Nintendo console.
Yesterday, during its financial report for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, which ended in December 2017, Nvidia made mention of Switch’s success and how it has positively impacted the company’s processor business.
As you know, Switch comes to life from a Nvidia Tegra X1 processor that, while being the standard model, has responded appropriately to the needs of the hardware and, obviously, the great sales of the Nintendo console has given positive results for Nvidia. In that sense, the company reported that its Tegra processor business obtained total revenues of $450 million, registering an increase of 75% compared to last year.
Without a doubt, this is excellent news, especially because of the influence that Switch’s success in the market is beginning to have. In previous occasions, Nvidia has highlighted the sales performance of the new Nintendo console and has been satisfied with the results that this relationship is having.
