Switch sets new 48 hour sales record for a Nintendo console in the US

It seems that Nintendo is making good results with its new console, according to New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield, Nintendo Switch sales during the first 48 hours were higher than any system previously released by the company.

According to Wingfield, this information was obtained while conducting an interview with Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America. “Friday-to-Saturday sales for Nintendo Switch exceeded first 2-day sales in Americas for any system in Nintendo history. Next biggest was Wii,” said the New York Times.

But this was not all the news, according to Wingfield, Fils-Aime also said that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild became the company’s best-selling release title.

“Zelda for Nintendo Switch the best selling standalone launch title (ie, not bundled game to Wii Sports) in Nintendo history.”

For now, we must wait to know the exact sales figures to have a bigger picture on Nintendo Switch. It is also too early to know if the system will be a success compared to Wii, but at least we can see that the console is having a good start.
