For some time there have been rumors of the possible development of Sunset Overdrive 2, a sequel to the first chapter for Xbox One released in 2014. Despite the rumors that suggested an announcement of the game during the E3 2018, it seems that Insomniac Games is not working on the game.
The indiscretion comes from Patrick Klepek, a well-known reporter who spread the word saying that he spoke in depth with several sources. According to the reporter, in fact, at the moment Sunset Overdrive 2 is not in the plans of the software house despite Insomniac Games has said that it would be willing to develop the title in a rush, but only if the project received the right investment to kick off production.
This rumor, which in turn should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is still unofficial by the team, so it apparently disproves rumors that Sunset Overdrive 2 will be announced during E3 2018.
A possible appearance of the franchise during the Microsoft conference is not to be excluded, because the rumors would also see the announcement of a PC version of the first episode. However, the presence of the second chapter in the lineup proposed by the Redmond colossus could clearly enrich the stage of exclusive title for Xbox in the near future.
A couple of days ago it was reported that Microsoft was preparing to bring all its artillery, However, ultimately it seems that we must remain vigilant to the possible presence of other exclusive of the company, whether Gears of War or Halo, for example.
Sunset Overdrive 2 isn’t happening right now. I poke around about this game all the time; it’s one of my generational favorites, and desperately asked for a sequel. It’s not in development. https://t.co/kYz4teHcmC
