Kalypso Media and Kite Games have announced Sudden Strike 4, new installment of this strategic saga since Sudden Strike: The Last Stand in 2010, for PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and Linux. It is scheduled to release in Spring 2017.
Sudden Strike is a series of RTS games set in World War II that were quite followed in the 90s and early 2000s. Now Kalypso Media has announced a new installment of the series, called Sudden Strike 4.
This is a sequel and not a remake or reboot, with three broad campaigns located in the battles of the World War II. Players can choose between British and American troops, German or Soviet, leading to 100 different units in combat including the German bomber Heinkel He111, the Russian T-34 tank, the British Hawker Typhoon fighter plane and the German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger.
For those who do not know very well about this franchise, we are talking about a strategy title in real time. The game features the most important war of Europe recreating some of its battles. Before starting each game, we will be encouraged to choose one of three possible commanders.
Now, for the first time in the series, we can choose nine individual commanders, George Patton and Bernard Montgomery, each with its own idea of combat, strategy and skills.
It will offer more than 20 scenarios for a player, a Skirmish mode and competitive multiplayer. A system of rewards will unlock skill points and content, such as historical videos.
