Valve confirmed, in the middle of last year, that it was working on a new user interface for Steam. The months have passed and the platform still does not present significant changes. However, the company confirmed at the beginning of the month that it is still working on the process.
Steam has a fairly large community, so Valve wants to improve every aspect of the platform. Therefore, it will implement some changes to improve the user experience and make it more accessible to everyone.
A new report indicates that these changes will also include a new interface for Steam Big Picture mode. During a developer event held in Barcelona, Spain, Valve spoke briefly about the features it is working on.
So, we know that Steam Big Picture will receive an update. This mode is an ideal interface for players who want to enjoy their library with control settings, from a television or just start their PC, it is possible to configure it as a startup interface.
Toni Domínguez, one of the attendees of the event, also revealed on PCGamesN that Valve is working on a calendar for the games. Developers can use it to let players know the important dates of their titles. Whether important events, updates, transmissions or maintenance tasks, they will be registered on the calendar.
So, players just have to take a look to see all the news about a specific title. Finally, we also know that Valve is working to further improve the review system. According to the company, there will be many other improvements in the future. For the moment, we will have to wait to know more details about it.
What kind of changes would you like to see on the platform? Do you like the idea of calendars for games? Tell us in the comments below.
Yes, indeed. According to them, they’re working on a calendar for games (to introduce scheduled updates, livestreams or special XP weekends, for a specific title), a new interface for Big Picture Mode and a better implementation for Steam Reviews.
