Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of the recent releases that generated more expectation since its official revelation. As many expected, the new exclusive for PlayStation 4 was a resounding success worldwide.
The title debuted on September 7 and its sales broke records in just 3 days. According to Sony, Marvel’s Spider-Man sold more than 3.3 million copies during its first days in the market.
Nearly 1 million of these units were acquired in pre-sale, which implies a new record for Sony and at the same time reflects the great popularity of the superhero. With this, the game is now the exclusive for PlayStation 4 that has sold the fastest in history.
The number and pace of sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man already exceeded what God of War did during its first days, as the Santa Monica game sold 3.1 million units in 3 days. Keep in mind that the current sales figure of Marvel’s Spider-Man does not include the copies that were sold in the PlayStation 4 Pro bundle.
Thus, the total copies sold of the popular title are more than those indicated. Sony thanked Insomniac Games and Marvel Games for their great work and execution in the exclusive.
The success of the title will undoubtedly increase further, as there will be new additional content that is likely to attract more players. Marvel’s Spider-Man is available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
