South Park: The Fractured But Whole will not come to Nintendo Switch

After a series of confusion generated by the official account of South Park on Twitter, the development team clarified things and commented that South Park: The Fractured But Whole will not arrive on Nintendo Switch.

After the rumors that had circulated in recent days, here is the official denial of the development team: there are no plans to bring the new South Park game on Nintendo Switch.

What was it that happened? The confusion began on Reddit and NeoGAF, when the official Twitter account of South Park tweeted, on March 13, a frozen cartman GIF with the phrase “Nin-ten-do. I’m coming. I’m coming, Nin-ten-do #blizzard2017”. Some fans assumed that this was a clear reference of the arrival of The Fractured But Whole on Nintendo Switch; unfortunately, it is not.

“South Park: The Fractured But Whole won’t be coming to [the Nintendo] Switch,” a representative of the studio told IGN. For its part, Ubisoft, company in charge of distributing the game, refused to comment.

So the tweet looks like it was a simple reference to the South Park episode where Cartman is unwilling to wait 3 weeks for the Wii launch and decides to freeze. This time was applied to highlight that there is still much left for BlizzCon 2017, an event that will take place in November.
