SoulCalibur VI First Details Revealed

One of yesterday’s announcements that took many by surprise was SoulCalibur VI. In the framework of The Game Awards 2017, Katsuhiro Harada revealed the first trailer of this new installment of the fighting series. If you cannot wait for new information about the title, we have good news for you.

Bandai Namco already shared the first details of the game. SoulCalibur VI will take us back to the sixteenth century, so we will see environments and characters of the original title. The company explained that, for the first time in the franchise, the characters will have 3D models made with Unreal Engine. Also, the battle sands will look spectacular thanks to the potential of the said engine.

Bandai Namco promised new fighting styles and dynamic battles. In addition, it introduced us to the characters we saw in yesterday’s trailer. The warrior is Mitsurugi Heishiro, he specializes in the use of the katana, an art he learned in his native Japan. His fighting style is the Shin Tenpu-Kosai-Ryu Kai and the name of his weapon is Shishi-Oh.

On the other hand, the fighter is called Sophitia Alexandra and comes from the Ottoman Empire. He will defend himself with his Athenian fighting style, which consists of the use of the short sword and a small shield. Its armament is called Omega Sword and Elk Shield.

As for the gameplay, the company will add a system called Reversal Edge. According to the details, activating it will have a greater offensive and defensive potential. You can predict to some extent the attacks of your enemy and plan a strategy against them. When Reversal Edge comes into action, the combat flow will be modified and the hits will be highlighted with a dynamic camera.

Soul Calibur VI will debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2018. We will have to wait to learn more about its game mechanics, the rest of its characters, as well as its final release date.
