Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, congratulated Microsoft for the welcome received from Xbox One X, the new console of the Redmond company released today in stores on November 7th.
Although the rivalry between companies (real or as part of the advertising strategies) still has a gap in the video game industry, the open references and courtesy samples of the important executives of the main companies in the sector are becoming more and more common at the moment to recognize the merits and triumphs of the competition.
Today, it was the launch day of Xbox One X, the new model of the console of Microsoft. Shuhei Yoshida, the head of the PlayStation division at Sony, has responded on Twitter to Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox business at Microsoft when the latter has published a message that links to an article about the great reviews that their new console has received.
Yoshida is short, has responded with a simple “Congratulations!” message, but it is a new example of healthy competition and a good corporate behavior among companies that have products that are faced for winning the favor of consumers, but that constitute – together with Nintendo – important pillars of a multi-million dollar industry as console manufacturers.
It is not the first time an executive of Sony congratulates rival companies, demonstrating a certain “fair play” at the level of communication: a few months ago, Shuhei Yoshida congratulated Nintendo for opening up to indie games on Switch.
