Although it seems difficult that soon we will see a new Silent Hill, that is no excuse to avoid enjoying some of its best titles, namely Silent Hill HD Collection. To make this more comfortable and easier for you, Microsoft reached an agreement with Konami to make 3 titles of the franchise backward compatible with Xbox One.
Following the custom, it was Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, programming director of Xbox LIVE, who was responsible for sharing this news. Through his Twitter account, he revealed that Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill Homecoming will join the backward compatibility program today.
We remind you that the backward compatibility program allows you to enjoy physical and digital copies of Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One. If you have any of these titles on the disk you will need to insert it into the console to play it as it serves as a verification method. On the other hand, if it’s in your digital collection, you should only download it.
In case you do not know, Silent Hill HD Collection is a collection that includes 720p versions of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. Although this is a package that was not very well received due to its technical problems and alterations, we believe it is good that the fans have the opportunity to play this series on the console of the current generation.
On the other hand, Silent Hill: Homecoming is the sixth installment of this series and was developed by Double Helix Games. This title debuted in September 2008 to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and was well received.
Now, keep in mind that these are not the only titles of Silent Hill that are backward compatible with Xbox One. In fact, since October 2016 you can play Silent Hill: Downpour on your Xbox One.
