At the end of October, ATLUS announced the development of Shin Megami Tensei V for Nintendo Switch; however, at that time there was nothing to indicate if there were plans to localize the title. Fortunately, that changed today, as it was announced that it will arrive in the West.
We know this because, through its YouTube channel, Nintendo released a preview of Shin Megami Tensei V. As you can see, this is the English version of the trailer that ATLUS shared last month.
So, we see that it is a game developed in Unreal Engine that will be held in Tokyo, Japan. The interesting thing is that everything seems to indicate that in it we will witness a world infested with demons waiting for a messiah to lead it towards a new dawn.
It is important to note that at the end of the video they have mentioned that it is a footage of a game that is still in development. This means that it is likely that the title does not completely represent what we will see in its final version. However, it is still an interesting video that shows us a little of what ATLUS is preparing.
Importantly, Atlus has not shared a launch window for Shin Megami Tensei V. We will keep an eye on it to share all the details when they are available.
Recently, Kazuyuki Yamai, manager of Shin Megami Tensei V, explained that it will have the same dark tint as the rest of the series. In addition, he revealed that it is a project that will explore the general frustration that exists in today’s society.
