Shenmue 1 & 2 HD Will Have Denuvo DRM on PC, Framerate Locked At 30fps
After revealing the minimum system requirements, the Steam page of Shenmue 1 & 2 HD has revealed that the collection of the two games will use Denuvo DRM on PC. Sega also confirmed that the framerate of the two remasters will be locked at 30fps.
As you can read in the official FAQ page of the game, Shenmue 1 & 2 HD will have the framerate locked at 30fps, still allowing you to play 16:9 when you have direct control of the camera (otherwise, during the cutscene the video format goes to 4:3).
As reported on Steam, moreover, the PC version of the collection will include the Denuvo DRM as an anti-tamper system, similar to what is seen in the other games published by Sega.
Remember that Shenmue 1 & 2 HD will be available starting August 21st on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The re-edition presents the two original games with various technical improvements, including fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, and an updated user interface with the possibility to select both the original dubbing in Japanese and the English one.
On this occasion, we would like to point out that the system requirements of the PC version of Shenmue 3 are also available (the third chapter of the series which is still expected to have a precise launch window).
