While Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will seek to distinguish itself from the work of FromSoftware as noticed in Dark Souls and Bloodborne, it will also maintain some elements of the formula that led to the success of Japanese studio. The above means that players may suffer by their own decision since the new title will have optional bosses.

During an interview with Game Informer, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the president and director of FromSoftware, revealed that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will allow players to face optional bosses, which will be waiting in some parts of the battle map that will not be directly related to the events of the main story.

In that sense, the creative confirmed that, at least in this area, the new game of FromSoftware will keep the formula present in games such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne: “This is a staple for us and we hope to meet expectations there with the optional bosses and we feel like they’re going to be pretty tough this time as well.”

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will release on March 22 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
