As scheduled, SEGA shared news about the future of Sonic. The developers know that the fans enjoyed Sonic Mania and that many of them wanted a physical version of the game. For this reason, the company announced Sonic Mania Plus.
It is a physical edition of the original game for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. The good news is that it will be accompanied by extra content never seen before. So, players can play with 2 extra characters, which will undoubtedly be familiar to the true fans of the series: Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel.
On the other hand, Sonic Mania Plus will include the Encore Mode, which will offer some non-detailed changes in several areas of the game. And if that was not enough, the multiplayer mode will now have support for up to 4 players.
Sonic Mania Plus will come with a special holographic box, will include a retro reversible cover and a 32-page artbook. The package will go on sale sometime in the summer for a price of $29.99 USD.
Players who already have the digital edition will be able to obtain the extra content. This is thanks to an update that will reach all platforms. For the moment, SEGA has not confirmed the price that will have to obtain the extra content in this case.
Sonic Mania is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
