A source of Eurogamer.net very close to the house of Kyoto has confirmed that Nintendo is currently working on “Mini” version of the Super Nintendo, arriving in stores later this year, just in time for the holiday season.
Over the last few days we’ve been telling you how Nintendo decided to end production of Nintendo Classic Mini NES in Europe as well as in the United States and Japan. Well, it seems that the end of production of the retro console in miniature by Nintendo has a good explanation as the Eurogamer portal ensures that the company will launch Nintendo Classic Mini SNES this year.
According to the sources of the aforementioned media, they claim that Nintendo Classic Mini SNES is already in production and that it will be ready to go on sale during the forthcoming Christmas, as Mini NES did in the past. In this way, Nintendo would continue to offer a retro miniature product and advance a generation to enjoy even more games comfortably.
The source made it known that the product should be called Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the development is well advanced. At the moment, unfortunately, there are no other details about it and the company has not yet commented on the news, which must be taken as a simple rumor pending for official confirmation or denial about this product.
What is certain is that after the success of the NES Classic Mini (recently out of production) the new edition of the Super Nintendo seems to be a natural step for the Japanese giant.
What do you think of this hypothesis? Will you purchase Super Nintendo Classic Mini?
