Rumor: Call of Duty 2017 will take place in Vietnam
The next Call of Duty may distance themselves from their futuristic scenarios in 2017.
According to new rumors, the Sledgehammer Games, studio responsible for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, may be working on a game that will take place in Vietnam and will be released in November 2017.
Activision has three studios to develop Call of Duty, which allows the development of each game that has a cycle of 3 years. Treyarch released Black Ops 3 in 2015 and next month Infinite Warfare of Infinity Ward will come, so Sledgehammer Games will be in charge of launching the next game in the series.
It is not the first time that Sledgehammer is interested in a Call of Duty themed story. A few years ago they had in their plans Call of Duty: Fog of War, an action game in the third person that was taking place in Laos. Due to problems with Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward lost some key employees who founded Respawn Entertainment, then Sledgehammer left its project on stand by to assist with Infinity Ward to release the game on time.
Later the Sledgehammer studio made the possibility of the Vietnam War with a more personal game. The team spent a lot of time to document on this war with the aim of making an adventure that transcended a mere game of frantic shots and stories already seen in other games of the series.
We’ll see if this rumor is confirmed, but we guess that it will take a while when we will have news about the new Call of Duty of Sledgehammer.
