Risk of Rain 2 is not yet officially released, but the Early Access stage has yielded very good results on PC, the only platform on which it is available. This good performance of the game could be enough to think that in the long run, it would reach consoles. In recent days the classification of the game in Germany could mean that the acclaimed title will appear on consoles.
Through its website, the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Agency (USK), recently classified Risk of Rain 2 for the current generation platforms Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the Arcade and Shoot’em Up genre and suitable for players aged 12 and up, just like on PC.
Despite these tests, it is important to mention that this does not mean anything official, because so far the developer Hopoo Games or the distributor Gearbox Publishing have not released any statement. In addition, if true, it is very likely that the console versions take a while to launch due to its status of Early Access. PlayStation 4, for example, usually does not have games in periods of Early Access in their store (Dreams has been the only one so far), which suggests that the launch on these platforms, if carried out, would occur until the title debuts formally in the summer of 2020.
If you do not know this title of action and adventure with a touch of survival, let us tell you that it is the sequel to Risk of Rain. The main difference is that the world of this new title was designed in 3D. However, there are some characteristics that remain, such as permanent death, which means that if your character dies, you will have to start again. In addition, each iteration will be different, because the environment is generated randomly so that each adventure is unique.
The title of Hopoo Games debuted on March 28 and within a week of its launch it had already achieved more than 500,000 players and in its first month, there were more than 1 million registered users. On the other hand, you should know that the official debut of the game will be in the summer of 2020, but it will receive updates in the remainder of 2019.
