Are you a Resident Evil fan? So today is a good day for you to congratulate Capcom, since it announced that, more than 1 year after its release, Resident Evil 7 continues to attract public attention and has already become the fourth best-selling installment in the franchise.
Through a statement, Capcom celebrated that Resident Evil 7 won the award for best virtual reality audio at the 2018 GANG Awards and there announced that the survival horror already sold 5.1 million copies worldwide. This figure takes into account the sales of its base version and the Gold Edition have had on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
With this, Resident Evil 7 exceeded the sales of Resident Evil 2 and became the fourth most popular installment of the franchise. Now, this title is only behind Resident Evil 5 (10.6 million), Resident Evil 6 (8.4 million) and Resident Evil 4 (7 million). We’ll see if with the passage of time it manages to overcome another of these titles.
Recall that in January 2018 Capcom announced that it had already distributed 3.5 million copies of Resident Evil 7, so in the last 2 months, it sold 300,000 more copies. In addition, by April 2017 the game had sold 3.5 million copies, so in the last 12 months, another 1.6 million units were dispatched.
Resident Evil 7 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
