Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has shipped more than 4 million copies
Capcom recently updated the official UK site of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard to share the good news: it has distributed more than 4 million copies of its new survival horror. It is important to note that Capcom did not specify whether this figure takes into account the release in all formats.
With this, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is positioned as the 4th most successful franchise, being behind RE5 (7.2 million copies), Resident Evil 6 (6.8 million copies) and Resident Evil 2 (4.96 million copies).
Not only that, but it also managed to beat sales of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite to position itself as the 10th most successful game in the history of Capcom. Keep in mind that the above is not counting relaunches based on the information Capcom shared on its website.
The bad news is that this has not been enough for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard to meet Capcom’s expectations. The company recently explained that its goal is for this release to distribute 4 million copies before the end of the previous fiscal year (that is, from its launch until March 31, 2017); however, it only shipped 3.5 million copies in this period.
On the other hand, the company’s goal is to ship 2 million copies before the end of the current fiscal year, and already has a quarter (approximately 500,000 copies) of this amount.
We will see if, with the next release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition, more people are encouraged to acquire the game and thus help reach its goal. In case you do not know, this new version of survival horror includes the base game and all its downloadable content. While we wait for its launch, tell us, have you played Resident Evil 7: Biohazard? What do you think of the new Capcom project?
We take advantage of the fact that we talked about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard to tell you that yesterday they shared new trailer and screenshots of Not a Hero and End of Zone, downloadable content that are on the way to the game.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
