Resident Evil 3: Fans Made An HD Version of the Game
After the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake, many fans are waiting for the remake of the third chapter, Resident Evil 3, originally released on the first 32-bit PlayStation.
Although a first, probably game teaser emerged in April, at the moment Capcom has not yet confirmed the development of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake.
In the meantime, some modders have decided to make a fan-made of the game, drawing inspiration from the original version for GameCube emulated on PC, able to exploit the so-called ‘Seamless HD Project’, ie a high-resolution texture package used precisely for Resident Evil 3.
The result, according to the nature of the project, is however quite remarkable, as you can see in the video below:
In the video, we can see a comparison of the original version with the HD textures. Mod allows you to switch between the original version and the beautiful one, which can be seen at the beginning of the video. Pay attention to the changing quality of textures in the menu. The mod can be downloaded from here.
In the 3D part, current emulators are already able to render polygons at higher resolutions, but pre-rendered textures and backgrounds suffer. In Resident Evil 3 HD, everything is in quality parity, as you can see in the image at the top of this news.
Finally, remember that according to rumors the alleged Nemesis Remake would not be in development at Capcom, but would have been entrusted to an external studio, which would have been defined by insiders as ‘very interesting’.
