Report: Vivendi is preparing takeover Ubisoft this year

The struggle between Ubisoft and Vivendi for control of the first seems to have no end. Over the past few days there has been much news affair between Ubisoft and Vivendi, in which Vivendi has tried in many ways to take possession of most of the actions to take control of the French publisher.


It is a struggle between companies which is not frowned upon by the current Ubisoft executives, they’re doing everything possible to counter it, feeling threatened its independence and creativity.

Vivendi has bought 25% of Ubisoft shares last December, sparking the ire of the President Yves Guillemot, willing to do anything to keep the company independent. Now, as reported by Reuters, Vivendi would be ready to complete the acquisition of the French publisher.

In recent months, Vivendi would have studied a strategy to acquire 100% of the company by the end of this year. President Vincent Bolloré believes that the acquisition of Ubisoft can turn Vivendi into a European media giant, an operation that would calm down investors, for which they feel the holding too weak in the fields of marketing and video games.
