Red Dead Redemption and Gears of War 2 4K Enhanced Patch for Xbox One Will Be Available Today

Microsoft releases updates for 6 backwards compatible games.

Today, during the second issue of Inside Xbox, Microsoft announced that 6 Xbox 360 backwards compatible games, including Red Dead Redemption and Gears of Wars 2, will receive updates for support on Xbox One X and, consequently, will look better on the console.

As of this moment, Microsoft will release updates for Sonic Generations, Darksiders, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Portal 2, Gears of War 2 and Red Dead Redemption. The titles will have visual improvements and support for 4K on Xbox One X. If you have a physical copy or a digital license, you will only need to place your disk in the console or go to the Ready to Install menu to download the game.

At the moment, the only one game that was shown was Gears of War 2. Microsoft showed a video with Rod Ferguson, the leader of The Coalition, who spoke of the benefits of playing this game on Xbox One X.

Previously, Microsoft released updates for 11 Xbox 360 games that are now supported on Xbox One X. The list, counting the most recent announcements, is as follows:

This same day, Microsoft announced that 19 Xbox Original games will be backward compatible on Xbox One. The list includes big surprises like the original series of Star Wars: Battlefront, Jade Empire, and Conker: Live & Reloaded.
