Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide: How To Unlock and Use the Fast Travel

Check out this guide on how to unlock fast travel in RDR2.

Red Dead Redemption 2

As in all open world games, even in Red Dead Redemption 2, we can use the fast travel to move quickly from one location to another. In this mini-guide, we will explain how to unlock and use this important feature in the new western game of Rockstar.

At the beginning of the adventure, the only forms of fast travel available are two: caravans and trains. The caravans appear on the map as an icon similar to two intersecting street signs. You can use these carriages to quickly reach a previously visited destination, paying a fee that increases in value based on the distance to be covered. To board a train, however, you will need to buy a ticket. Head to the relevant stations, talk to the clerk and purchase the ticket to board the train and reach your destination.

To unlock the traditional fast travels, however, you will first have to get the corresponding upgrade of the camp. Consult the map and reach the point marked with the dollar symbol: here you can buy three upgrades for your accommodation. Choose the second to unlock the fast travel at a cost of $325.

Once you have purchased the upgrade, you will be able to interact with a caravan with a map behind your accommodation, where you will be able to select a specific destination to be reached on the fast travel journey. Remember, however, that this function will only be available in your camp: to go back you will have to use the other methods of movement.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for Xbox One and PS4.
