Since Rocket League became popular, many players have shouted to see it on a Nintendo console. Now with the successful launch of Switch, it is possible that these wishes come true? According to Psyonix, they are evaluating the situation.
In an interview with IGN, Jeremy Dunham, Vice President of Psyonix, explained that to take it to a new platform it is necessary to take into account several factors. Among them they are investigating how much demand actually exists for their product and what are the technical aspects that should be taken into account.
“Just like all the other platforms, we are evaluating it. We’re looking to see what the technical requirements are. We’re looking to see what kind of true community demand there is. We’re looking to see how it would benefit the community as a whole. So we’re still in that evaluation phase. It’s definitely too early to say that it wouldn’t happen, but it’s also definitely too early to say that it would,” he said.
Later, Dunham reiterated that his community is very important to them, so they think about it for any important decisions they want to make.
“I think we’ve shown over time we’re a community based company, and so what we’re doing first is seeing what kind of impact that would have and who needs it and who wants the game and we’ll go from there. Luckily the platform’s [Switch] only been out for a month, so we have plenty of time to look to see how it’s doing and what our audience wants,” he said.
Remember that this is not the first time that Psyonix has talked about the possibility of bringing its star game to Nintendo Switch.
