A few moments ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the total sales of PS4 during the holiday season, which it described very strong and solid thanks to the 5.9 million units sold in that period and that in general translate into 73.6 million consoles sold until December 31, 2017.

SIE data took into account sales registered from November 19 and until December 31 in the 127 countries in which the brand’s products are available, including Latin American nations.

In addition, the good news for PS4 extends to other areas such as the sale of games and the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers. Regarding the first section, SIE reported that, during the holiday season, it sold 55.9 million games for PS4 worldwide, taking into account physical and digital sales, and in total, the software for the Sony console records 645 million copies sold until December 31, 2017.

At the same time, John Kodera, president, and CEO of SIE, celebrated the sales registered by PS4 in the holiday season and thanked the support of the fans, but not before highlighting the number of subscribers of PS Plus.

In that sense, Kodera mentioned the following: “PlayStation Network continues to demonstrate spectacular growth, with the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers surpassing 31.5 million*5, and PS Store recording its largest-ever monthly sales of content in December 2017. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our community and our partners for helping us achieve such phenomenal milestones. We promise our unwavering commitment to bring more amazing experiences to our fans, including exclusive games and innovative network services, as PS4 continues to flourish as the best place to play.”
