Sony Sends Out Beta Invites of PS4 Firmware 6.50

0 311

According to reports available online, Sony Interactive Entertainment began shipping to some selected players invitations to participate in the Beta testing phase of the firmware 6.50 of PS4.

In the e-mails sent to users, it is clearly specified that this new version of the firmware does not include new relevant features, suggesting that it is mainly addressed to improve the stability of the system.

Despite this, the first testers have signaled that a new option has been added that allows the X and Circle buttons to be inverted. In the West, the X key has always been associated with the confirmation action, while the Circle to cancel, as opposed to the typical Japanese custom, which identifies the Circle button with confirmation and X button with cancel.

No news, however, with regard to the functionality for the change of nickname is given, introduced with the Beta of Firmware 6.10 and still lacking a final launch date. Evidently, the team is still working to solve the problems reported in the past, before starting the large-scale roll-out.

Recall that the latest firmware update of PS4 made available to all users is 6.20, dating back to last December and also aimed at improving the stability of the user experience.
