Producer Confirms A New NieR Project Is In Development

In an interview in the latest issue of Famitsu, NieR Automata’s Producer, Yosuke Saito, briefly referred to the future of the saga, confirming that a new NieR franchise project is currently in production.
According to Saito, the bases would have been thrown, so probably the game is in the early stages of development. “As for a game, we’re making preparations for the setting which you could guess from the fact that we were recruiting a scenario planner. I hope you will look forward to it,” Yosuke Saito said in the same interview.
The producer of NieR Automata also talked about the possible involvement of Yoko Taro: “He is… I would like to believe (laughs). Yoko says he will do anything as long as he receives money for it, but there is no one who doesn’t move for money as much as that man. He only wants to do what he wants to do. So I’ll try my best to explicitly say what he doesn’t want to do to guide him towards what I want to do (laughs).”
It is hard to imagine that the title in question is a remake of the first NieR, but we are not safe from a good surprise. It will be necessary to wait for more information on this subject, but these first details are already good news in itself.
NieR: Automata is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC.
