Report: Prima Games Will Shut Down Next Year

The closing of an editorial or the cessation of operations of a company specializing in printed material related to video games will always be bad news and today it was confirmed that the famous publishing house Prima Games, famous for its guides and strategy books for video games, will disappear next year.

The information began to make noise yesterday when an EGM Now report revealed that the Prima Games publishing house would end its operations in the spring of 2019, according to information obtained from the Dorling Kindersley division of the Penguin Random House company, responsible for the publication.

In this regard, the report indicated that the affected workers were the first to make public the closure of Prima Games and even assured that the process for the closing of the 3 offices of Prima Games in New York, Indianapolis and Roseville, California, would begin this month. In that sense, the workers mentioned that from the beginning of 2019 until the spring of that year, only the Indianapolis office will continue to function to meet the latest commitments.

After the news toured the world, a report from Gamesindustry confirmed the closure of Prima Games by revealing a statement sent by a representative of the publisher, who said it will be in the spring of 2019 when the publication’s story ends.

The Prima Games publishing house was founded in 1990 and for 28 years its guides accompanied the launch of the most important games in the industry, even some stores offer packages that include the title and its respective guide. Throughout its history, the publisher published 1400 guides and printed 90 million copies.
