According to Richard Leadbetter, “several sources” have confirmed that PlayStation Neo will come to market in 2016.
A few months ago we came to know of the existence of PlayStation Neo. Despite not being presented at the recent E3 that Sony could “talk about games”, as if Microsoft did with its next two consoles, Xbox One S and Xbox Scorpio, users took for granted that Sony would announce its plans soon.
Although so far it has not been the case, a statement by Richard Leadbetter to Eurogamer could have given final clue about it. And, as told, “several sources” have made it known that the new console from the Japanese company would come this year 2016 to the stores.
However, according to Digital Foundry reports the truth may be other. Digital Foundry mentioned, in a recent article where it analyzes to achieve 4K is really for what it should take advantage of the power of NEO and Project Scorpio. According to them, several sources indicated to them that the PlayStation NEO will be launched in stores later this year.
“Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show. If that is the case, it’ll be interesting to see how developers utilise its resources, and whether 4K really is the focus,” notes the Digital Foundry article.
If this information is said to be true then it leads us to wonder why Sony did not show the console at E3? When do you think they will show it? Recently the company said it will show the NEO when it is ready, which leaves the possibility open to be presented at Gamescom in Paris Games Week and the Tokyo Game Show.
It should be noted that this information was not confirmed by Sony and should therefore be taken as a rumor.
