PlayStation 5 Will Be ‘World’s Fastest Console’, Sony Claims In Its Job Vacancy

Sony is getting ready to start the next generation with PlayStation 5. Many of the details of the console are still a secret, but we already know enough information to have a general idea of what the system will offer.
One of the highlights of Sony is that PlayStation 5 will use a solid-state drive instead of a hard drive like the one used by PlayStation 4. In fact, Mark Cerny, the architect of the console, stressed that the use of such units will be the key to its strategy for the next generation.
Apparently, Sony is very confident in its plans, as a job vacancy described its new system in a striking way. The company is looking for personnel for its cloud engineering department, so it invited interested parties to work with the “world’s fastest console.”
The job ad suggests that the potential candidate will help “to build next generation cloud infrastructure”, and “will also be one of the leaders of an elite team that is super excited to launch the upcoming world’s fastest console (PS5) in 2020.”
The one chosen for the vacancy will be specifically senior director of cloud engineering. Thus, he/she will be responsible for building the next generation of cloud infrastructure. According to Mark Cerny, the use of solid-state drives will make loading screens a thing of the past.
It is also estimated that this change at the hardware level would make last generation games run faster on PlayStation 5. This could be important for the console, because we must not forget that Sony also wants backward compatibility to be a key factor for its success.
There are even rumors that PlayStation 5 will have backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation discs, but it is not confirmed. On the other hand, it is estimated that PlayStation 5 would be more expensive than the PS4 in its launch.
Finally, we tell you that it is a fact that PlayStation Now will have support in the next generation console.
