According to a statement from Sony, the public Beta of firmware 4.00 update of PlayStation 4 will be available soon; thereby the company unveiled the main features that will come with this patch.
If you were one of those selected to test the Beta, you must be attentive to your mail to find out at what point you can start to download the new version of the system.
Among the changes that will come, there will be a new User Interface (UI) with a new system of funding, and more notifications, as well as a new section of Whats’s New. The System Icons have been redesigned. However the overall appearance of the UI will remain very similar.
Another change is that the Quick Menu will be much faster and easier to use, according to Sony. This menu will now be much smaller and does not need you to leave the game to access it, for now you have a number of shortcuts which you can see for who is online or go to a party without returning to the screen of home screen.
In the Share Menu, the most notable change is that of the video clips to post on Twitter that can now have a duration of 140 seconds versus 10 seconds allowed before. This menu also has been changed to a smaller and more accessible one.
And if that was not enough, Sony also announced that users will have the ability to create folders for content. In addition, there will be a section in the library with the Purchased label, in which all content you own, including apps, demos and betas are displayed.
