PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Reaches 5 Million Players on Xbox One

As reported on the ResetERA forum, in the past few hours a video was announced, probably by mistake, announcing the achievement of 5 million players for the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The video has been removed, so we are awaiting confirmation of the numbers reported.
The official announcement is expected probably in the next few hours, in any case, it is a very positive number for the console edition of PUBG, which is added to the more than 33 million active PC players, for a total of over 38 million active users.
For 2018, Bluehole has scheduled many updates for PUBG, also talking about the arrival of the game on PlayStation 4 and Switch, although in the latter case it seems that the launch is expected in 2019.
In the meantime, work to extend the contents continues, with a new map planned for April and further additions in the coming months like a new system of emote. The new map will be an island of 4×4 kilometers available to players and will be made available in April, initially on the test servers. Apparently, it will be an area characterized by a greater density of players and therefore probably inclined to shorter matches.
Regarding the emote system, this will be introduced “very soon”, always first on the servers dedicated to testing, and will allow various modes of expression and communication between the players. Among other additions, there are also new vehicles and modes, as well as the usual technical work on the adjustment of various problems and improvements.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will also be the protagonist of a panel at the GDC 2018.
